The Lancashire Care Services Directory has been produced by Care Choices to provide people with a guide to social care services in Lancashire. Staff were able to define abuse and the actions to take if they suspected people were being abused. Many of the spacious, high quality bedrooms, all with en-suite facilities, offer views overlooking the sea, the gardens and an Italian style garden. It also offers residents restaurant style dining, a cinema, salon and an indoor bowling green. We are proud that most of our experienced and enthusiastic care team have been with us for many years, so there is excellent continuity of care. The home is registered to provide accommodation and care for up to 22 older people. The majority of people accommodated have a diagnosis of dementia. Mr David Calwell - 6 Lord Street 6 Lord Street, Lytham St Annes, FY8 2DF ★★★☆ 6 Lord Street is a residential service providing care and support for up to three people with a Learning Disability diagnosis. The service is situated in a residential area close by a trading site.
We found staff received appropriate training to enable them to meet peoples' needs. People were supported in a prompt manner and told us they had no concerns with the availability of staff. With many seating areas, a library and lounges residents can choose to relax or take advantage of the extensive range of activities and make use of a range of facilities, including trips in the vintage motor car. A high quality drinks machine is available in the dining room throughout the day but clients may prefer to prepare their own drinks in their suites using their own personal kitchen facilities. We saw people were offered a variety of foods at The Moorings and people were supported to eat and drink sufficient to meet their needs. At the time of the inspection visit there were 52 people who lived at the home. There was a complaints procedure which was made available to people and their family when they commenced using the service.

People we spoke with told us they were happy with the support they received. Porritt House senior living strives to be more than just the idea of a traditional residential home fot its' clients. I possess the compassion and have an in-depth knowledge of person centred care complimented with the requirements needed to meet regulation guidelines. I have gained knowledge through practice of medical conditions and the impact on daily living as well as a sound understanding of medication administration and other clinical areas.

We observed staff administered medication with a skilled and secure approach, which the registered manager strengthened through training.

The home is a smaller family type establishment with the experienced proprietor providing the majority of the care, supplemented by a small nucleus of staff.
People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible. The policies and systems in the service supported this practice. Since its inception our family run home has provided the very best in period property surroundings with modern facilities and services. I joined the Company officially in September 2000 when we were a much smaller group of two homes with a care offering of 48 bedrooms in total. I have literally worked my way up through the Company from the bottom.
People were referred to other health professionals for further advice and support when assessed needs indicated this was appropriate and documentation we viewed reflected this. This was a planned inspection based on the rating at the last inspection. I have been at The Moorings for just over a year and I can honestly say it’s the best place I have worked. Every care is taken to ensure the residents are treated as individuals and with care and respect.
They told us good staffing levels afforded people responsive and dignified support. Everything we do at Lakeview Luxury Residential Care Homes revolves around achieving excellence. Every registered care provider in the UK can claim a free listing on Autumna. However, a paid subscription allows more information to be added and as a result a higher profile score.

Processes were in place to ensure people's freedom was not inappropriately restricted. Staff told us they would report any concerns to the registered manager. Care plan information focused on a person-centred method of supporting people. Also, information contained what support was required and consent to care forms had been signed by people who lived at The Moorings or their representative. People who lived at The Moorings and relatives we spoke with only had positive comments about the management team and how the service operated.
